Orlando Pirates deputy captain Olisa Ndah and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen miss out as Nigeria announce squad for 2025 Afcon qualifiers against Libya

Nigeria coach Augustine Eguavoen announced his squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya.

Orlando Pirates’ stand-in captain Olisa Ndah and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen have been left out of the squad due to their respective injuries.

    Ndah and Osimhen were part of the Nigeria squad that took on Benin and Rwanda in September.

    The Super Eagles collected four points from the two 2025 Afcon qualifiers – having won against Benin and shared the spoils with Rwanda.

    Ndah and Osimhen will be hoping to be available for selection in November as Nigeria take on Rwanda and Benin.

    WHAT NEXT?

    Nigeria will host Libya in Uyo on Friday, October 11, and will travel to Benghazi for the return leg four days later.

    Two wins would put the Super Eagles in a good position to qualify for the Afcon finals to be hosted by Morocco.
