Resignation of Nestor Ortigoza

San Lorenzo has asked Néstor Ortigoza to resign from his position as a full member due to the incidents of gender violence that have been made public. The ruling party of the Board of Directors considers that his conduct does not reflect the values that the institution defends.

The club based its decision on the rights and obligations established in the National Constitution and International Human Rights Treaties, such as the Belem Do Pará Convention. In addition, it relied on Article 7, paragraph E) of Law No. 26,485, which promotes the cooperation of private entities in the fight against gender violence.

San Lorenzo has also acted in accordance with its internal protocol, with the support of the Gender and Diversity Subcommittee, to eradicate gender violence within its environment.
