Olimpia coach Pedro Troglio confirmed the names of the players who accompanied Demetri Gordon on his trip to La Ceiba , before the fatal accident in which the young footballer lost his life last Sunday .
In a press conference after Olimpia’s 1-0 victory over Real España , Troglio took the opportunity to remember Gordon and reflect on the decisions that footballers often make.
The Argentine coach mentioned that Julián Martínez and Josman Figueroa traveled with Gordon to La Ceiba. Martínez, who was suspended for accumulating yellow cards, and Figueroa, who was not called up, were close to the deceased player.
“Julian is one of the direct people , they are practically brothers, they lived together. Now he is going to Roatan, he will be there on Friday for the burial and will accompany Demetri’s family,” Troglio explained.
Gordon, 21, died after his vehicle collided with a truck on the CA-13 highway.
