    WHAT HAPPENED?

Cameras haven been following every move at SToK Racecourse, on and off the pitch, since a couple of Hollywood superstars completed their stunning takeover in 2021. From the outset, the idea was for an epic sporting journey to be documented on screen.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

There has been plenty of drama, and success, for the award-winning series to cover – with Wrexham breaking records while clambering out of the National League and into the third tier of English football. Parkinson has been at the helm throughout that meteoric rise, with the passion that he displays in the dressing room putting smiles on the faces of famous co-owners and an ever-growing legion of supporters.

      WHAT PARKINSON SAID

Quizzed by Sky Sports on life as a documentary star, with fans being given a look at life behind the scenes, Parkinson – who often turns the air blue before, during and after matches – said: “You forget the cameras are there because our job is to concentrate on what we have to do. It took a few weeks at first and it was a little bit strange, but we’re used to having them around now.

“But we’ve got a good relationship with the guys who are doing the filming. There has to be an element of trust in place, because we’ve got to work together to help tell the story. We’ve had a lot of exposure ever since I’ve been here, in terms of the spotlight that has been on us home and away. The lads have got used to dealing with that.”

      WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

Wrexham have been able to avoid any potential distractions when it comes to having cameras follow them around, with remarkable success being enjoyed on the field. At present, Parkinson’s side are looking to keep themselves in contention for a historic third successive promotion – as they ride high in the League One table.
