Playboi Carti appears on Tyler, The Creator‘s new album Chromakopia, but his contribution is so far limited to the vinyl edition.
Chromakopia arrived on streaming services on Monday (October 28), with most fans unaware that the vinyl version of the album contains a bonus song and a guest feature from Carti.
The Atlanta rappers lends a guest verse to the ScHoolboy Q-assisted “Thought I Was Dead,” adopting a deeper voice that he’s used in other recent songs over the jittery production and tribal drums.
A recording of the track has since been leaked online.
The vinyl also includes a bonus song called “Mother,” which finds Tyler reflecting on being raised by a single mom.

Following the unusual early week release of Chromakopia, Tyler, The Creator gave some instructions to fans on how to listen to his latest album.
“Make sure you listen in full with no expectations no distractions no checking text or social media letting others paint your thoughts on shit before you get a chance. Thank you,” he wrote on Instagram.
The 14-track project features a stacked supporting cast with appearances from Sexyy Red, GloRilla, Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, ScHoolboy Q, Doechii, Teezo Touchdown, Solange, Daniel Caesar and Santigold.
Chromakopia arrived on streaming services mere hours after Tyler debuted the album during a sold-out listening event at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
The $5-a-ticket show saw the Odd Future founder dressed in a black mask and military uniform while stood on green-lit shipping containers inside the recently-opened $2 billion home of the Los Angeles Clippers.
After performing the album in its entirety for the very first time, Tyler gave a brief speech to the crowd where he explained the inspiration behind Chromakopia.
“This album originally started [with me] growing up in these areas. I was like, ‘Oh shit, no one knows anything about me from before, like, 17,’” he said.
“The album kinda just turned into me taking a bunch of shit my mom told me as a kid. Now that I’m 33, all of that stuff is like ‘Oh, that’s what the fuck she was talking about!’”
He added: “People are getting older, folks are having kids and families, and all I got is a new Ferrari. I’m gaining weight, I got a gray hair on my chest.
“Life is life-ing and I just wanted to write about stuff that I think about when I’m dolo. And I’m happy that y’all got to experience it in my hometown.”
