Rixi Moncada met with the US ambassador in Tegucigalpa, Laura Dogu, where they discussed issues such as the fight against drugs and migration.
General Roosevelt Hernández , head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of the Armed Forces (FF. AA.), confirmed this Thursday that next week a government delegation, headed by the Minister of Defense, Rixi Moncada , will travel to Washington, United States, to hold a meeting with security officials from that country, in order to discuss issues related to the fight against drug trafficking.
“Next week we are traveling to the U.S., we will meet with personnel from the Southern Command (…) where we will be learning about the dynamics,” said Hernandez.
The head of the military institution also stressed that the meeting will allow for strengthening anti-drug shields, as well as discussing issues of national sovereignty.
“All of this is in order to continue the joint work that we have been doing with the United States through this control, arrests and seizures of drug trafficking in the Caribbean Sea,” he explained.

It is worth remembering that weeks ago the Minister of Defense, Rixi Moncada, met with the US ambassador in Tegucigalpa, Laura Dogu , where they discussed issues such as the fight against drugs and migration.
Moncada also revealed that they would go to the United States to discuss bilateral matters. Recently, Xiomara Castro’s government denounced the Extradition Treaty with the United States, which has generated general rejection.
