Who is Shin Fujiyama?

Shin Fujiyama, 41, originally from Kanagawa, Japan, is dedicated to improving education in Honduras. After moving to the United States and completing his studies in International Affairs and Pre-med, Fujiyama joined the Students Helping Honduras Foundation in 2007.

Since then, he has worked tirelessly to build schools in the Central American country, having founded the organization Mil Escuelas. His work has earned him recognition as a CNN Hero, and he is currently in the process of building school number 73.

Shin Fujiyama continues to demonstrate an admirable commitment to education in Honduras, and his latest race is a reflection of his determination to make a tangible difference.
