Stash of weapons and drugs seized in La Ceiba

The Military Police of Public Order (PMOP) of the Armed Forces of Honduras seized and secured this Friday a buried bag that functioned as a cache that belonged to the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), in the Primero de Mayo neighborhood, in La Ceiba, Atlantic zone of Honduras.

During the search, various weapons and ammunition were found, including a rifle, two homemade weapons and multiple magazines, as well as projectiles of different calibres. The arsenal included:

• 1 rifle type rifle
• 2 homemade weapons (chimba)
• 2 R15 chargers
• 3 Galil chargers
• 1 9mm magazine
• 39 5.56 shells
• 15 .357 shells
• 1 20mm shell (anti-aircraft)
• 1 .50 projectile
• 2 20mm shotgun shells

In addition, several bags of marijuana distributed in different packages were found.

The Military Police reaffirmed its commitment to continue working to dismantle criminal gangs linked to drug trafficking and other organized crimes in the region.
