Taxi driver claims he picked up a deceased woman in front of a cemetery

The story of a taxi driver who claims to have transported a dead person after picking him up at a cemetery went viral again on social media, despite the fact that the incident occurred in 2023.

The strange encounter took place near the cemeteries located on the North Highway. It was nighttime when Maria Edith picked up a woman who seemed very strange from the first moment.

“She told me to take her to the La Soledad neighborhood and that her mother would pay for the service there,” recalled the host, still shocked by what happened.

However, something didn’t seem right about the passenger. She didn’t speak, she didn’t move and she barely seemed to breathe. “I asked her if something was wrong, but she didn’t say a word to me the whole way,” Maria said.

The woman, young and well-dressed, had a penetrating smell of formaldehyde and earth, as well as a coldness that permeated the interior of the vehicle.

Upon arriving at the address indicated, the passenger barely muttered a few words before getting out of the taxi. What happened next left the taxi driver terrified. “When I turned to look, the woman had already walked through the door,” she recalled in amazement.

Maria Edith got out of the taxi and, still bewildered, knocked on the door of the house. An old woman came out and calmly revealed what made her blood run cold: the passenger was her daughter, who had died the day before and had been buried that same afternoon.

“She told me: ‘She was sick, but thank God she is now well at the side of our Lord.’ I couldn’t believe what I was hearing,” the taxi driver confessed.

Terrified, María Edith got into her taxi, crossed herself and sped off, trying to process what she had just experienced. Since then, the story has circulated among taxi drivers and residents of Bogotá, but it is now, with the Halloween atmosphere, that it has gained strength again, fueling the urban legends surrounding the city’s cemeteries.
