Ted Lasso favourite in Season 4 ‘possibility’ admission as fans wait on Jason Sudeikis bringing Rebecca Welton & AFC Richmond back

Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham, who plays the popular Rebecca Welton character, admits that a fourth season of the hit show is a “possibility”.

Fans are daring to “Believe” once more as talk of the award-winning Apple TV+ production returning to screens around the world continues to build. Said discussion was started when Warner Bros picked up options on three prominent members of the cast – including Waddingham.

    She fills the role of AFC Richmond owner, with her exploits in and out of the boardroom winning a legion of loyal supporters. Waddingham is one of several stars to have expressed their excitement at stepping back into the world of Ted Lasso.

    She has previously told Entertainment Tonight: “I would always play her, even if she had a walking frame, so I’m the wrong person to ask. I’m in, I’m there, they are some of the greatest loves of my life, that cast. And the writers are so magnificent, you’d be stupid not to, you know? So, yeah, I’m totally there. Are we going to be there? I don’t know.”

    WHAT WADDINGHAM SAID

    Waddingham continues to hold out hope, telling the Table for Two podcast when quizzed again on stepping back into the high heels of a fan favourite: “I don’t know. All I do know is that Welton has gone nowhere out of my heart. I think there’s a possibility. Who knows? All I know is that writers’ room were a writers’ room of champions, magnificent writers, and it spoils you for all other work.”

    WHAT NEXT FOR TED LASSO?

    There has been talk of pre-production on Ted Lasso season four getting underway in early 2025, with Warner Bros CEO Channing Dungey offering an “exciting” update when asked to further fuel a rumour mill that is already ticking over nicely.
