Popular Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao makes history as her first cinematic creation “Ajakaju” – Beasts of Two Worlds, makes a record-breaking 16M in cinemas on the first day.
The latest development was shared by FilmOne Entertainment via its verified page on the photo and video sharing platform Instagram today, March 30 2024.
Recall that the cinema movie, “Ajakaju” produced by Eniola Ajao was released into cinema nationwide on Friday March 29th 2024, this comes after the movie becomes one of the trending conversations online after organizers awarded Bobrisky the Best Dressed Female at the movie premiere held on Sunday March 24th and was also given N1M.
However, the announcement did not sit down well with many including Dayo Amusa and Portable who dragged Bobrisky over the award. Femi Adebayo was also dragged for announcing Bobrisky as the winner.
The matter escalated to the extent that Portable and Bobrisky berates each other on social media and Eniola Ajao had to come in.
ccording to Eniola, Bobrisky was given the Best Dressed Female so as to make the movie popular stressing that it was an intentional act.
She however begged Nigerians for forgiveness as she disclosed that she spent over N200M on the movie as she sold her cars, land and properties to finance the movie.
In an emotional video, Eniola Ajao makes a U-Turn as she announces new winners for the female Best Dressed and will receive N1M each
“To Bobrisky, I offer my sincere apologies for putting you in a difficult position. The decision to award you was never meant to cause harm or controversy but was rather a misguided attempt to generate publicity for our movie. I am truly sorry for any distress this may have caused you.
“In an effort to make amends and correct my mistakes, I have decided to honor Papaya Ex and Iyabo Ojo as the best-dressed females at the premiere. Each will receive a sum of N1,000,000(One Million Naira) as a token of my sincere apology and appreciation for their grace and elegance.”
In an IG post today, FilmOne Entertainment confirms that the movie has made N16M in cinemas just 24 hours after it was released.
However, the movie “Ajakaju” as of the moment of filling this content is now the highest opening day for a film released in 2024.
Reacting to this, Odunlade Adekola wrote; “We think it’s time to change the Dictionary word for SUCCESS to FILMONE. 😁😁 . Thank Nigeria 🇳🇬 UNA TOO MUCH!!!!!! . #Ajakaju is still showing in cinemas Nationwide. Trust us when we say it’s worth the watch!!!.”
