The United States and Israel will cooperate militarily following Iran’s ballistic missile attack. After Gaza and Lebanon, attention now turns to Tehran.
In the past few hours, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, chief of staff of the Israeli armed forces, discussed the current situation with US Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of US Central Command, the department that coordinates US military actions in the Middle East.
During the conversation, the two military commanders discussed “bilateral cooperation” before, during and after the Iranian ballistic missile attack. They also pledged to maintain coordination between the two militaries in the face of future events in the Middle East.
“We are preparing to assist Israel,” US national security adviser Jake Sullivan said from the White House. He said Iran’s ballistic missile attack was “ineffective” but represented a “significant escalation” of events. He also warned that Tehran would face “serious consequences.”
After opening the two fronts of Gaza and Lebanon, Israel is now attacking Iran. Three major military targets that raise fears of an escalation of the war throughout the Middle East. “The gates of hell have been opened,” they conclude in Tel Aviv.
