On Wednesday, November 6, Roland Lescure was invited on the show “Les 4 V” (or Les Quatre Vérités) on France 2.
Roland Lescure is the vice-president of the National Assembly (France) and deputy of the French established outside of France, in North America more precisely. During his interview on the show, he emphasizes to what extent the presidential election in the United States can have an impact on expatriates.
He recalls in particular that Donald Trump had “indicated that if he were elected, he would tighten the belt very strongly on immigration”. Only to add: “all the French who live here (North America) are immigrants”.
In addition, if some expatriates are Franco-American, many have work permits, including temporary work permits and green cards. “When he was first elected, he made a ‘musl.im ban’ by prohibiting all nationals of certain Muslim countries from entering the United States,” explains Roland Lescure.
