On October 31, just a few days before the presidential election, Donald Trump was at it again.
At a rally in Arizona, the Republican candidate lashed out violently at Liz Cheney, a former Republican congresswoman and Harris supporter. “Let’s put her rifle in her hand facing nine gun barrels shooting at her. Let’s see what she thinks. You know, with the guns pointed at her,” he quipped, referring to a firing squad.
The Republican had, at the time, been commissioned to investigate the Capitol assault of January 6, 2021.
Liz Cheney’s response quickly followed on X (ex-Twitter): she accused the former White House tenant of being a “vindictive and cruel” dictator. For her part, Kamala Harris also expressed her dismay at this latest outing, claiming that Trump had “increased his verbal violence against his political opponents and, in great detail, suggested pointing guns at former elected official Liz Cheney. This must disqualify him”.
