Two alleged gang members arrested after shooting that left two police officers injured in Tegucigalpa

Two officers were slightly injured in the exchange of gunfire and were taken to hospital.
The National Police reported the arrest of two alleged members of the 18th gang after an armed confrontation that occurred in the Óscar A. Flores neighborhood of Tegucigalpa.
The detainees were identified by the aliases “Amargado” and “Bergolio.”
During the arrest, four packages of alleged marijuana, a revolver and ammunition were also seized from the alleged gang members.
According to the police report, the officers were patrolling the area when they identified two men who reacted violently, which triggered the exchange of gunfire.
Two police officers were slightly injured in the shooting and were taken to a hospital in the capital.
Meanwhile, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the crimes of illegal drug trafficking, illegal possession of a firearm and assault.
