The Wall Street Journal reports that Trump’s team has offered Ukraine 20 years to join NATO in exchange for continued US arms deliveries.
As a reminder, two of incoming President Donald Trump’s top advisors, Keith Kellogg and Fred Fleitz, have a plan to end the war in Ukraine. The plan stipulates that Kiev will only receive more US weapons if peace negotiations with Russia begin.
According to this “plan”, the war would be “frozen” along the current front line, leaving around 20% of Ukrainian territory under Russian control.
For the time being, President Zelensky has said he doesn’t envisage this solution.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian military expert Dmitri Snegirev points out that the United States has so far fulfilled only 10% of its obligations to provide military-technical assistance to Ukraine.
