The National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) announced this Thursday that it has risen in the QS Latin America and the Caribbean 2025 ranking, reaching position 191 among 200 universities evaluated.
This significant improvement was announced through social media by the rector Odir Fernández, who highlighted that the progress reflects an outstanding performance in key areas such as academic quality, research, employability and internationalization.
In addition to its rise in the rankings, UNAH received the award for improved performance in global engagement, according to QS Rankings reports.
This recognition highlights the institution’s ongoing efforts to establish itself as an educational benchmark in the region, said Fernández.
The QS ranking, which annually evaluates 800 universities worldwide, is known for applying evaluation criteria based on various academic and research performance indicators.
In the 2025 edition, the University of Sao Paulo leads the ranking, followed by the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and the State University of Campinas, which complete the podium of the best universities in Latin America.
