US African Commander Langley Visits Nigeria, Speaks On Fight Against Insecurity

Gusau said that Langley was accompanied to the Defence Headquarters by the US Ambassador to Nigeria Mr. Richard Mills.

The , has paid a visit to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, at the Nigerian Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

The Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, who made this known in a short statement issued on Wednesday said that Langley spoke on the fight against insecurity in Nigeria.

Gusau said that Langley was accompanied to the Defence Headquarters by the US Ambassador to Nigeria Mr. Richard Mills.

According to Gusau, Langley commended the approach the Nigerian government is taking in fighting insecurity in the country and its strategic leadership in the African sub region.

Langley also congratulated the CDS for his appointment as the Chairman of the Committee of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) chiefs of Defence staff.

In His response, the CDS Musa thanked the AFRICOM Commander for visiting Nigeria and assured him of the AFN commitment to cooperate with other nations in the sub region to eradicate all forms of terrorism and crimes.

Musa also sought for more Defence cooperation with the United States, especially in the area of training, intelligence sharing and easier procurement of relevant platforms from the US.
