In an election as tight as this one in the US, it’s tempting to look for answers in the big barometer of human behavior: astrology.
Astrologists have been busy trying to work out what forces could affect the election outcome. For that, they have looked at the various contestants’ astrological charts. The first surprise: Harris, Trump and Vance were all born during a full moon. This is the type of coincidence that theorists love.
But on a more mundane level, what can we expect? Guess what: it’s hard to say. Although Harris’ profile has been comparatively low compared to the flamboyant Trump so far, both candidates have auspicious planetary transits going on.
Jupiter, for example, has long been deemed the ‘presidential planet’. Ronald Reagan, a fervent believer in astrology, chose to officially become the Governor of California in the early hours of the morning so Jupiter would feature high in his inauguration chart.
The good news for Trump, a mega-Gemini, is that Jupiter is currently in Gemini. But coincidentally or not, Harris also has Gemini ascending. British astrologer Neil Spencer thinks this will play in her favor. “Harris just had a full Moon in Aries on her Libran birthday, very close to her own full Moon, promising peak popularity. Harris also has her natal Saturn in Aquarius, precisely on the Moon of the USA’s birth chart – a powerful connection to its people.”
Trump “will not skate into victory”
The American so-called “Astro Twins” also feel that Trump “will not just skate into victory”, noting that Harris will be bolstered by 2024 being the year of the wood dragon in Chinese astrology – Harris was born in the last one! Also, the retrograde of Mars into Trump’s 12th house in December and January (when the inauguration takes place) could signal bad news for him.
Things are heating up on the day of election itself on November 5 as Mars is in Cancer opposing Pluto in Capricorn. “Mars-Pluto is as scary a combo as it sounds – the God of War meets the Lord of the Underworld,” according to Spencer. He feels it could represent “the passing of an era of corporate demagogues, or its last final fling.”
Many observers have also noted that the post-election events could be chaotic. And indeed, a retrograde cycle of Mercury often leads to disputes.
So although no clear winner is being foretold, it is safe to make one prediction: this will be an election to be remembered.
