WHAT HAPPENED?
Brenden Aaronson and Leeds United returned from the international break but unfortunately suffered a 1-0 loss to Burnley at Elland Road Saturday.
Burnley, who count former NFL superstar J.J. Watt among their owners, did the damage early as American-born, Italian youth international Luca Koleosho scored in the 18th minute. Anchorman star Will Ferrell, who owns shares in Leeds, was also in attendance.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
This continues a tough month for Aaronson after the 23-year-old returned from a winless trip with the U.S. men’s national team in their September camp.
Yet, there could be some optimism for the midfielder with Mauricio Pochettino now officially in the fold as USMNT manager.

DID YOU KNOW?
Aaronson enjoyed much better fortunes with Leeds in August, being named the Fans’ Player of the Month after a sizzling start to the season. This is a far cry from the preseason and past matches when the midfielder was booed at Elland Road.

WHAT NEXT FOR AARONSON?
Aaronson and Leeds return to action on Sept. 21 when they travel to Wales to face Cardiff.
