A video showing an armed attack at the “La Consentida” bar , located in the center of Irapuato, Mexico , caused a stir on social media after its release on Wednesday.
The attack, which occurred on the night of October 3, left one man dead and two people injured, at an event that caused panic among those attending.
The video, just 41 seconds long, was captured by a security camera installed inside the establishment, located on the corner of Lerdo de Tejada and 20 de Noviembre streets, in the San José neighborhood.
The images show how two armed men broke into the premises and opened fire within seconds.
How did the attack begin?
The attack began when two hitmen arrived at the bar on a motorcycle. Without turning off the vehicle’s engine, the attackers quickly entered through the two doors of the establishment and began shooting.
One of them shot a man in a blue T-shirt at point-blank range, who was hit several times, two of them in the head, and fell lifeless on the table.
The bullets also hit a couple , injuring the woman , while her companion tried to protect her by covering her with his body until the attackers fled the scene. Seven other people managed to escape unharmed from the attack.
The State Attorney General’s Office has launched an investigation to find those responsible for this violent incident that has the Irapuato community on alert.
The images caused a great impact due to the brutality of the attack, which took place in a public place full of people, increasing fears of insecurity in the region.
Authorities are continuing their investigations to clarify the motive behind this crime and find those responsible for this heinous attack.
