The passage of Hurricane “John” through Acapulco, Mexico, left shocking images, but also showed the supportive and courageous side of the people of Acapulco.
Amid the strong current unleashed by the heavy rains, a video captured the moment when a man of approximately 30 years old was about to be swept away by the water in one of the city’s streets.
The man was trying to rescue a bicycle when the force of the water surprised him. Realizing that he would not succeed, he decided to cling to a rope that crossed the street in order to survive.
At that moment, several citizens who were witnessing the scene reacted immediately and began to pull the rope to take the man to a safe place, managing to rescue him and avoiding a tragedy.

Meanwhile, the situation remains critical in other areas affected by the hurricane, such as Oaxaca , where the overflow of the Mixteco and Santo Domingo rivers has left hundreds of homes at risk of collapse.
