A shocking video that has recently circulated on social media shows a college girl named Melanie de Jesus being violently assaulted by her boyfriend at a Halloween party.
The footage has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and concern about gender-based violence in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas. This violent act once again underlines the urgent need to address this problem that affects so many women in the country.

Melanie, a 20-year-old student at the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas, was attacked on October 31. The images, which have been widely shared, show how Christian Rojas , her partner, attacked her while they were outside a party.
Apparently under the influence of alcohol, Christian punched Melanie in the face, causing her to fall to the ground. Despite a friend’s attempts to intervene and stop the attack, the violence continued, leaving Melanie defenceless and seriously injured.
The consequences of this violent outcome are heartbreaking. Melanie has fractures to her jaw, nose and hands, as well as significant damage to her left eye, which seriously compromises her vision.
She is currently hospitalized at the IMSS Regional General Hospital No. 6, where she requires surgery and urgent medical treatment.
The perpetrator of this attack, Christian Rojas , has become a fugitive from justice. A medical student at the Institute of Sciences and Higher Education of Tamaulipas (ICEST), his current whereabouts are unknown.
In response to this serious situation, the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Tamaulipas has issued an arrest warrant against him and has begun an intense search to locate him.
The FGJTam has requested the collaboration of the public and is offering a reward of 200,000 pesos for information that leads to the capture of the aggressor.
” A reward of up to 200,000.00 mn is offered to those who provide useful, truthful and timely information that facilitates the search and location of Christian de Jesús Rojas Martínez ,” states a file published by the authorities.
