Waste was left quickly after accident on Suyapa Boulevard in Tegucigalpa

The accident left 17 people injured with serious wounds and fractures who were transferred to the School Hospital.

A serious traffic accident occurred on Wednesday morning after an executive bus, better known as a ‘rapidito’ on the Carrizal-Miraflores route, crashed into a wall of the Escuela Hospital while fighting for a line on Suyapa Boulevard in the capital of Honduras.

Deaths from road accidents

In 2024, there will be around 2,100 deaths, which is higher than in the previous year.

According to the Violence Observatory of the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), 2023 closed with 2,007 deaths, which represents the highest mortality rate in two decades.

One of the most worrying aspects is that more than 70% of these fatal accidents are caused by the human factor , whether due to speeding, drunk driving, mobile phone use or lack of attention on the road.
