In an emotional message, journalist Luis Carlos Vélez announced his resignation from La FM and many are wondering where he is going now.
Luis Carlos Vélez announced this Thursday his resignation from La FM, one of the most well-known RCN Radio stations in Colombia . He had been in charge of the network for almost seven years, thus closing a cycle.
” I am leaving on very good terms. I am grateful to the Ardila Lülle Organization for having given me the opportunity ,” said the journalist and economist who has been in charge since February 2018.
Vélez said that he is leaving because he wants to “tell the truth,” which “costs more.” This, apparently, after criticizing a few days ago the realization of the COP16 that will take place in Cali.
” In this house they always let me tell the truth, and that will always be the case. I want to tell you that this pause will not stop us from always telling things as they are. Telling the truth is uncomfortable. Telling the truth creates enemies. Telling the truth costs more. And telling the truth in the scenario we are living in is intensely difficult and dangerous. And of course it brings consequences. Therefore, today more than ever, journalism must confront the powerful and assume those consequences ,” the communicator mentioned in his farewell editorial.

After his announcement on Thursday, many people were eager to find out where the journalist would go next, but he never mentioned it.
However, it should be noted that despite saying goodbye this Thursday, October 3, he will be with the company until the 15th of the same month, as reported by El Colombiano.
