Where was Mayra Gómez Kemp born?, photos and what she was like as a young woman

The historic presenter Mayra Gómez Kemp, originally from Cuba, has died at the age of 76, according to Spanish media reports.

This Sunday we learned of the death of Mayra Gómez Kemp , renowned presenter of the legendary television show ‘Un, dos, tres… responda otra vez’ at the age of 76 after suffering a serious fall.

Mayra herself told the television program ‘Ni que fueramos shhh’ that she spent “18 hours on the ground.” After the incident she had to be taken to the hospital, where she spent a few hours under observation.

She was discharged on October 14, but she herself said she felt ” very tired ” after the fall and her death occurred after she announced her retirement from television earlier this year.

Where was Mayra Gómez Kemp born?

Radio and television presenter Mayra Gómez Kemp , of Spanish and American nationality, left Cuba with her parents after the revolution, when she was still a child, never to return.

He graduated in Journalism in the United States and developed his professional career in Spain. He was born in Havana on February 14, 1949. He grew up in a family related to the arts.

His father was called Ramiro Gómez Kemp, he was a Cuban singer-songwriter, actor and writer; and his mother, Velia Martínez Febles, was an actress, singer and dancer. His family was exiled to Puerto Rico, then to Venezuela and later to Florida, United States.

She became the first woman in the world to host a television game show and in the 1970s she was part of the musical trio Acuario, with which she achieved hits such as Rema, rema, marinero.

In 2009, she stopped participating in television programs due to tongue cancer, which she underwent surgery for. In 2014, she received the Iris Award for Lifetime Achievement, the highest award from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

As for her partner, it is known that the renowned presenter lived alone in her house, in the Malaga town of Mijas, since her husband Alberto Berco died in 2021.
