On the morning of Thursday, October 17, the death of Mexican comedian Eleazar del Valle , known as Kompa Yaso , was announced after being hospitalized for a week.

The 54-year-old comedian was found unconscious by his mother and rushed to hospital, where doctors made the decision to induce a coma to protect his brain; however, the damage was irreparable.

” We left by ambulance, he was already unconscious and when we got to the hospital they intubated him and sedated him anyway… it was around seven at night and he was in a different room, I heard a scream and a thud that he had fallen, then I arrived and found him unconscious ,” his sister told De Primera Mano.

The comedian suffered from kidney failure, which he had been suffering from for several years, and his brother even revealed that “he had been out of work for quite some time due to his health problems.” In the end his body could not withstand the induced coma and he died.

Who was Eleazar del Valle, Kompa Yaso?

Kompa Yaso , whose real name was Eleazar del Valle, was known for his dark humor. He was originally from Tulancingo, Hidalgo, and managed to stand out for his ability to speak on certain topics.

He did not finish his studies in Acting and Directing at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and his passion for comedy led him to make a name for himself and his participation in the program ‘ Chisme no Like ‘ as a substitute for Javier Ceriani gave him notable recognition and popularity.

In an interview with María Patricia Castañeda, the comedian revealed that during his childhood he lived in Paris, France, due to his father’s studies; once in Mexico he continued his studies in a school that also taught French.

At first he confessed to being a soap opera actor, but he assured that comedy was humor: ” I wanted to be a soap opera heartthrob, but the mask turned out better. I always leaned too much towards comedy .”

The character was known for wearing a mask, but this was born out of the need to protect his identity because Kompa Yaso worked for several companies.

” The design of the mask was a very curious thing, because the original idea was to cover my face because I worked in several companies with people who watched television programs and I didn’t want to be made fun of at work if things went wrong ,” she said in an interview.
