Parkinson said: “A lot of hard work has gone into it, from pre-season all the way through to the end of that first month. Everyone connected to the club can take great credit for the work that has gone in. It’s great to get the award, for myself but more importantly for everybody; the players, and all the staff – and I mean all the staff, because everybody contributes.
“We can congratulate ourselves on it, but it is just the first month of the season and we know that and there’s so much more work to be done. But we’re really enjoying being in this division. You can sense it – there’s a great anticipation on the training ground every day, and a competitive edge in the way we’re going about our business.”
