The Honduran president and the Mexican president-elect agreed that mutual cooperation is important to face the challenges they share in their countries.
Honduran President Xiomara Castro met on Monday with Mexican President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo , in a meeting in which the bilateral relationship between the two Latin American countries was reaffirmed.
At the meeting in Mexico City, Castro Sheinbaum expressed their interest in collaborating on the interoceanic railway project, which seeks to improve connectivity and trade in the heart of Central America.
They also discussed issues such as migration, security and energy, reaffirming their commitment to work together.
“President Xiomara Castro held a bilateral meeting today with Mexican President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum, with whom she agreed on her progressive vision and pledged to further strengthen diplomatic relations,” Foreign Minister Reina said.
The Honduran president and the Mexican president-elect, both left-wing, agreed that mutual cooperation is important to face the challenges they share in their countries.
The meeting was also attended by private secretary Héctor Zelaya and foreign minister Enrique Reina.
