Authorities in San Pedro Sula have launched an investigation into the death of Melissa Castro Díaz, a 16-year-old girl who was found dead inside her home in the village of El Carmen.
According to the preliminary report, the teenager was found hanging from a beam using an extension cord.
According to local media, the couple was having problems related to an alleged infidelity, which caused the man to become enraged and throw her out of the house.
Her mother, who called for a thorough investigation, said that her daughter had moved out on her own a few weeks ago to live with her partner and expressed doubts about the possibility that Melissa had attempted to take her own life.
