Young man goes to job interview with his mother and misses opportunity

A Spanish recruiter shared on her TikTok account an unusual episode she experienced during a job interview: a young man was accompanied by his mother.
According to the woman, it all began when she called a young candidate to enter the interview room. However, when she got up, the young man was not alone.
A woman who turned out to be her mother also stood up next to her. She surprised the interviewer by saying: “I am Fulanito’s mother and I have come to enter the interview.”
Alba Vilchess, bewildered by the situation, firmly explained to the mother that the interview was exclusively for her son and that it had to be done individually.
“I told her: ‘Ma’am, I’m very sorry, but the interview is for your son, so either he goes in or no one goes in… And who went in?’ No one,” Vilchess recounted.

The young man, who seemed to have the qualities necessary for the position, was ruled out due to his mother’s interference.
Reactions on social media were not long in coming, sparking a debate among users. Comments such as “one has to face this alone” and “unbelievable that someone doesn’t have the character to go alone” multiplied, while others considered the situation to be “incredible” and “disconcerting.”
