A man in a city in Turkey decided to buy a pair of headphones to use with his phone and enjoy his favorite music, without imagining the danger they represented.
Shortly after the purchase, his girlfriend, while trying out one of the hearing aids , suffered an unexpected explosion in her ear , causing permanent hearing loss .
According to the buyer’s account, the headphones had 36% charge and had not yet been used before the incident. After the explosion, they went to a service center, where employees were initially surprised and concerned about what had happened.
Company distances itself from the problem
Two days later, the company issued an official report denying the explosion and stating that the device had merely been deformed. As a precaution, they offered a new pair of headphones of the same model, but the couple rejected the offer, arguing that it does not compensate for the severity of the damage suffered.
“I have been dealing with this issue for months,” he told The Business Standard , stressing the need for a fair resolution to the incident.
