Volodymyr Zelensky will present his “victory plan” next week at a summit to be held in Ramstein, Germany, on October 12.
The Ukrainian leader has been talking about this plan for months, which is supposed to lead Ukraine to victory as the conflict approaches 1,000 days.
In recent months, positions on the eastern Ukrainian front have remained relatively stable despite a recent gain in ground by Russian troops who recaptured the town of Vouhledar, located in Donetsk Oblast.
“We will present the victory plan, clear and specific measures for a just end to the war,” the Ukrainian president wrote on Telegram.
Although no element of this plan is publicly known, the Ukrainian head of state presented it to Joe Biden and also to the other candidates in the American presidential elections, which will take place next November.
The US State Department spokesman said the plan contained “a number of productive measures.”
However, an anonymous source cited by The Wall Street Journal told the outlet that the plan was nothing more than a new demand for weapons and an end to restrictions on long-range weapons. The source added that the plan does not contain any coherent strategy.
