On April 3, 2023, Breese Maroc, the newest member of the Hype House, unexpectedly announced her death on Twitter, shocking her followers.

Her large following quickly took notice of the simple tweet that said, “Breese did pass away, thank you for the kind words and help.”

Maroc was run over by a scooter, according to the official Pink House TikTok account, which verified her death on the platform (via teatoktalk). This only served to further muddle matters. They also conjectured that Skilah, who was known to ride scooters around campus, might have been the person riding the scooter.

However, skepticism quickly arose among viewers who questioned the veracity of the news and wondered if this page was spreading false information or even making jokes about her death.

One concerned fan expressed their disapproval, saying, “What tf is wrong with them, joking about something like that is not ok.” Another comment read, “That’s so disgusting to be joking about.”

Amid the confusion and widespread reports of Maroc’s alleged death, the rumors were put to rest when she took matters into her own hands. She edited the caption of her latest Instagram post to read, “I’m not dead,” which was later updated to “Time for a nap,” signaling that she was very much alive.

This turn of events left fans puzzled, and they began speculating whether the influencer had faked her own death or if someone else had done it in a bizarre twist of events.

A perplexed fan remarked, “So wait, I’m confused. Did she fake her own death, or did someone else fake it? Either way, it’s not funny at all.” Another suggested that her Twitter account “was hacked,” and they were unaware of what had happened until the tweet about her death surfaced.

Adding to the intrigue, Maroc’s Twitter account, which had originally spread the rumors of her death, is now either deleted or deactivated.

Maroc later took to her Instagram Story to clear the air, revealing that she had deactivated her only two TikTok accounts and stating that none of the TikTok accounts bearing her name are genuine.
