“The government ignores our requests for projects and does not resolve them,” he said.

San Buenaventura City Councilor Jaime Andino expressed his concern on Thursday about the lack of support from the Tourism Secretariat, which is limiting the growth of the tourism sector in the region.

Andino, through tunota.com, called for the needs of this municipality to be taken into account and for a plan to be implemented to promote tourism, which is vital for local development.

He also denounced the insufficient health care provided at the municipality’s health centre, pointing out that the deficiencies in that sector are alarming.

“The government ignores our requests for projects and does not resolve them,” he said, adding that the requests made to the various departments do not receive the necessary attention, as the situation is politicized, he explained.

The councilor also stressed that the 1.4 million lempiras that he receives monthly in municipal transfers is not enough to cover the basic needs of the municipality.

“The municipalities in the south of Francisco Morazán continue to be abandoned due to a lack of projects,” he denounced, and therefore called on the Ministry of the Interior to assign the appropriate percentages to each locality.

Andino concluded that, as authorities, there is a debt with the issue of tourism, and urged better planning and attention to ensure the sustainable development of San Buenaventura.
