Tremors in different regions of Honduras
Copeco maintains constant monitoring of seismic activity throughout the national territory.

On Tuesday, October 29, Honduras was shaken by four earthquakes , according to the Permanent Commission of Contingencies (Copeco). The earthquakes were recorded in different areas of the country, although no damage has been reported so far.
The first earthquake, measuring 2.6 on the Richter scale, occurred in the village of La Laguna , in the municipality of Alianza, department of Valle, during the early hours of the morning.
Minutes later, a second tremor of lesser intensity, with a magnitude of 2.2 degrees, was recorded 6 kilometers northwest of Santa Rosa de Copán, in the west of the country.
At noon, a third earthquake measuring 3.4 degrees struck northeast of Roatan , in the Bay Islands, a popular tourist area in the Honduran Caribbean . The event occurred at a depth of 25 kilometers , making it one of the most significant of the day.
Finally, a fourth earthquake , measuring 3.1 degrees, was recorded just 5 kilometers northeast of Santa Rosa de Copán, again affecting this western region. Unlike the others, this latest earthquake had a surface depth of only 1 kilometer.
Copeco is constantly monitoring seismic activity throughout the country, urging the population to be alert and follow the authorities’ recommendations in the event of possible aftershocks.
