Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate for the US who has almost secured a new term, said at a campaign event on Tuesday evening that the EU will have to pay “a big price” if he wins the elections. What did he mean by that?

Speaking at an event in Pennsylvania, Trump outlined his thoughts on how the US will work with the EU on trade, promising it could cost Europe billions. “I’ll tell you what, the European Union sounds so nice, so lovely, right? All the nice European little countries that get together.”
But then his tone quickly changed. “They don’t take our cars. They don’t take our farm products. They sell millions and millions of cars in the United States. No, no, no, they are going to have to pay a big price,” he said.
